A group of 57 organizations released an open letter urging the European Union to act on corporate disclosure standards around Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) concerns.
The expected role of the corporation has evolved in recent years, prompted by concerns for environmental degradation, widespread social unrest, and failures of governance. The letter’s signatories thus urge the European Commission to support the efforts of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation to promote a global baseline set of ESG disclosure standards.
