Observations

Due to strict COVID-19 restrictions, many foreign expatriate professionals have left or are planning to leave Hong Kong, threatening the city's standing as a global financial hub.

Hong Kong had about 13,000 coronavirus infections among the population of 7.4 million, which is much lower than most places in the world. However, they are following Beijing's "zero-COVID" policy. Hong Kong has had stiff quarantine rules for two years, and the city also introduced some of the strictest entry rules in the world last year.
