Kathy Matsui, the former vice-chair of Goldman Sachs Japan, launched a venture capital fund to help startups enhance ESG values in early June. The fund will invest mainly in Japanese startups, with some money going toward early-stage overseas firms.
Before her retirement from Goldman at the end of last year, Matsui worked on the "Womenomics" research that greatly influenced governmental policy surrounding female labor participation in Japan.
