Observations

Organizational accidents, or risk management failures, don’t have to be seen in a negative light, Starling Advisor Tom Reader asserts in a recent piece published by the London School of Economics. Instead, Reader argues that organizations should see them as an opportunity to learn.

“As a psychologist, I’m interested in why people make mistakes, the factors that lead to accidents and how organisations can become more resilient,” he explains. “Organisational accidents are almost entirely avertable and sometimes can be avoided through very basic human interaction.”
