The National Society of Compliance Professionals (NSCP), a nonprofit organization that advocates and provides resources for compliance officers in the financial-services sector, is asking regulators to consider how a corporate compliance program functions within a firm.
The group proposes that regulators should seek to better understanding the full context in which the compliance chief functions in its regulatory reviews, examinations, and enforcement investigations. This comes amid growing concerns heard among compliance professionals regarding their individual liability exposure.
