In the past several years, firms in every industry have spent billions on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) training programs. However, despite bold promises from advocates, there is no empirical evidence that these programs are effective. In fact, some research suggests they may be exacerbating the problem.
In a recent Wall Street Journal article, Starling Advisor Betsy Levy Paluck, a professor of psychology and public and international affairs at Princeton, bemoaned this lack of evidence and called for collective action to study the effects of diversity training.
