He is a former Deputy Director for Global Digital Governance at Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan (METI). There, he was in charge of establishing a new governance framework for the rapidly changing digital technologies, including AI safety, privacy protection, data security as well issues related to the digital platforms.

He was selected by the World Economic Forum Global Future Councils on Agile Governance and Apolitical as the World’s 50 Most Influential People Revolutionising Government (Agile 50).
