Q: Your recent book — I, Human — opens with the assertion that AI “has clear potential for decoding the dynamics of people at work and to not just predict, but also enable, better performance for individuals, teams, and organizations.” Can you say a bit more about this, specifically in the context of management?
A: Although organizations are way more meritocratic (and less nepotistic) today than they were 100 years ago, there is still much room for improvement: go into any company and ask people if the most powerful, successful, or senior employees are also the most talented or hard-working ones, let alone those who add the most value, and they will look at you bewildered.
