Observations

In a recent keynote speech at the Supervision Innovators Conference 2023, Elizabeth McCaul, a Member of the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank (ECB), outlined the ambitious "Single Supervisory Mechanism Digital Strategy 2024-2028" aimed at revolutionizing banking supervision in the EU through technology, data, and innovation.

"We started working on the first supervisory technology (suptech) use cases in 2020," she said. "We assessed, prioritized and started to implement them as part of our Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) Digitalisation Blueprint between 2021 and 2023."
