ICYMI: As reported by the Financial Times, the UK's Chartered Management Institute (CMI) issued a stark warning in mid-2023 that the development of leadership skills had been severely neglected, impacting performance and economic growth.
In an interview with the FT, Ann Francke, Chief Executive of the CMI, called upon politicians to take responsibility following an embarrassing series of "high-profile cases of serious wrongdoing, mismanagement, and toxic cultures across the UK." The call to action came after a CMI-commissioned survey found that less than one-third of Members of Parliament believed that improving leadership quality should be a high priority for Government.
