Last week, two of Apple's ten largest shareholders, Norges Bank Investment Management and Legal & General, supported a resolution that asked the company to disclose more information about its use of AI, as reported by the Financial Times.
The proposal requested that Apple report on "any ethical guidelines that the company has adopted regarding [its] use of AI technology." Shareholders ultimately rejected the resolution. However, it is telling that institutional investors are actively engaging with their portfolio companies regarding both the risks and opportunities associated with AI.
