UK to Make "Failure to Prevent" Fraud a Crime

Observations

The UK government's Security Minister, Tom Tugendhat, recently said that new provisions to the upcoming Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency bill would make "failure to prevent" fraud a criminal offense.

The rules will likely be based upon the UK's other "failure to prevent" offenses for bribery and tax evasion, which were legislated in 2010 and 2017, respectively.
