In a recent op-ed published in the Financial Times, Hemant Taneja, CEO of General Catalyst, argues that “the era of easy international business is over,” and that the winners going forward will be those companies that support national independence.

In this “re-globalized world,” countries are striving to strike a balance between global interdependence and national resilience in key sectors, including healthcare, defense, and energy, Taneja explains. In this environment, businesses must collaborate with policymakers to design policy that achieves both private and public goals, he argues.
