In what has been dubbed "Crypto Week," the US House of Representatives begins debate this week on a series of digital asset bills aimed at establishing a comprehensive regulatory framework for cryptocurrency and related technologies, as reported by the Financial Times.
Part of a push by Republican lawmakers to make the US the world's "crypto capital," the three key bills on the docket — the Genius Act, the Clarity Act, and the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act — address stablecoin issuance, regulatory jurisdiction, and central bank digital currencies, respectively. "We are advancing landmark legislation to establish a clear regulatory framework for digital assets," said Rep. French Hill, chair of the House Financial Services Committee.
