Observations

In recent remarks to the ABA Institute on White Collar Crime, Attorney General Merrick B. Garland stated that corporate crime is detrimental to public trust in the institutions. This is made all the worse, he explains, when regulators fail to hold these individuals accountable, leading some to believe that the rule of law does not apply equally to all.

"The Justice Department does not intend to fail," Garland said.
