Whistleblowers Accuse EY of Whitewashing Trades

Whistleblowers have accused EY of concealing suspicious trades made by long-time client Leonteq, a Swiss fintech that designs bespoke investment products.

In early 2021, Leonteq created two trades for a French workers cooperative society. The complaints allege that EY should have reported those trades to French authorities for possible money laundering and tax evasion after an investigation found large commissions were routed to the British Virgin Islands instead of the original broker.
