Observations

Santander, Spain's biggest bank, has hired law firm Gibson Dunn to review allegations of bullying and harassment against Eduardo Consolini Bastida, its UK investment bank's chief risk officer. The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has also reportedly opened its own investigation into Bastida's conduct.

The bank is examining claims that Bastida made jokes of a sexual nature and inappropriate comments to female employees at social gatherings. The allegations, which span several years, also include accusations of bullying in the workplace.
