Most OpRisk spend is focused on detection via surveillance, monitoring, and control systems. While new AI solutions promise better risk identification, most are backward-looking. The speed with which last year’s bank failures unfolded shows that the ‘advanced hindsight’ afforded by current tools is untenable. Needed are tools that afford proactive risk identification and mitigation.
